Premier Junior Golf Tour/Academy Now Registering Local Youth for 2020 Fall Season

PLANO/FRISCO/MCKINNEY/ALLEN/DALLAS – JULY 19, 2020 – To give area youth golfers an opportunity to learn the game in a fun safe environment and to allow the golfers to compete at the same level as their peers. The junior golf academy and the Premier Junior Golf Tour are kicking off its 2020 fall season and is currently accepting registration for boys and girls, ages 7 to 16.

The Premier Junior Golf Academy is a year-round program designed for boys and girls ages 7-16. Open to beginner golfers with no prior knowledge of the game, or intermediate to advanced golfers who want to improve their game. Classes are organized into seven skill levels and taught by experienced PGA/USGTF certified golf professional. All students start at level (1) and advance to the next level only by passing a challenge test to assess their mastery of that level. Intermediate and advanced students may bypass lower levels by passing the level’s skill challenge. Students also receive a “character counts” lesson during each session focusing on trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

The Premier Junior Golf Tour is part of a national effort to increase youth involvement in the game of golf. Players compete in the same skill level as the other players. Competitors learn the etiquette and rules of golf, as well as mutual respect for others and the value of teamwork. Golf is also a great way for the players to develop important social skills. Golfers will compete in the six-week fall tournament season to be held on Sunday’s beginning September 13, through November 1. Participants will compete in a weekly Match Play Team format in six local matches held at courses in Plano, and Lewisville.

Registration and Player Evaluations

Participants can register online at the Premier Junior Golf Website: The registration fee is $300 per player and includes a team hat, shirt, green fees, and an awards ceremony at seasons end. Players can participate in one of two different evaluation days for team placement. The evaluations will be held at the Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club, 2701 Ridgeview Drive in Plano from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00pm on Saturday, August 29 & 6:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Wednesday, September 2. Evaluations should last about 20 minutes per student and are done on a first come first serve basis. All participants must be registered to attend an evaluation day. Players attending our academy do not to attend an evaluation day.

“We’re about teamwork, mutual respect and integrity while actively teaching these kids the game of golf, including the rules and etiquette,” said Bryan Ham, president, and owner, of the Premier Junior Golf Development programs. “Under the supervision of a coach, they get to play and practice together. This is a great way for kids to get course time and spend less time indoors in front of the television or computer.”

Premier Junior Golf Development has been committed to increasing youth participation in the game of golf. Dedicated to providing not only instruction but competition for young golfers. Premier’s strategy endeavors are to increase its footprint in the state of Texas to include all skill levels of youth beginner golfers.
